Patty

Patty is an incredibly sweet girl who's been through a lot of change in the last few months and still has the resiliency to bond with people. She is great with other dogs, walks well on lead and loves to get out, be with people and cool off in the dam.
It seems that she has experienced some physical neglect in the past with her ears tips damaged possibly from flystrike. We have also x-rayed her hips and she does have dysplasia which the veterinary surgeon specialist has decided would be better managed through supportive nutrition supplementation and appropriate exercise. Her elbows have also been x-rayed and are fine.
Patty's ideal home would be hanging out with her people and another dog for company. She is fully able to, and thoroughly enjoys going for walks and swims but for her long term health things like agility and endurance are out.
Patty was surrendered to us after being adopted from a Sydney pound by a lady with a big heart but no experience with the breed or understanding of the decompression period needed. We have found Patty has become a lot more comfortable in her surroundings over her time here but adopters will need to expect there will be some adjustment time in which Patty will be wanting the reassurance of being around her people and/or other dog initially. Her stress behaviours are fairly typical shepherd panting, pacing ones with zero aggression and once she knows she's safe she will be a very appreciative and grateful new family member.
Patty really deserves a stable and loving home to enjoy the rest of her life, help us get her there and witness her blossom and live her best life.
