About ForrestForrest's Story
We received a call just before Christmas 2011 to say that A cat with 2 kittens had been found on a property near Kangaroo Creek near a forest and they thought that the cat was pregnant again. The people had asked everyone locally and no-one had seen the cat before so we agreed to take her in. We scanned her for a chip but nothing was found. The kittens with her were already approximately 8 weeks old at least and yes mum was pregnant again. We let mum settle in with her 2 older babies and then after a week or so when they were 10 weeks old, we separated them got them immunised and chipped then desexed a month later. We named mum Forrest after where she had been found and the two kittens Frazer and Freeman.
Then towards the end of January, 7 new kittens were born which is unusual as cats usually have 4-6 kittens. The smallest one died during one night, we suspect Forrest knew that something was wrong so smothered the kitten as it was not thriving for no apparent reason. The other 6 have grown up to be beautiful fluffy kittens who are extremely affectionate and loving. They are now approximately 8 months old. Two have been rehomed, we still have four left: Firecracker, Felicity, Ferdi and Ferris.
