Nero

About Nero
Nero and Rada were rescued from Renbury Farm in Sydney. Although these two were surrendered together they are not siblings and they did come from RAAF Breeding. They were living together but they are now separated as Rada has a habit of dominating Nero. I have noticed that Nero is starting to stand on his own feet and does not take everything Rada dishes out which has also been good for her. Rada is now living with a quiet staffy cross and she has also backed down a little so the separation seems to be good for both. Nero would made a wonderful companion dog. He like most Belgians loves to be with people seems to be very good with kids. He is obedient comes when called sits stays etc. He is find with other dogs especially those with the similar energy level as he has. He would be good at any of the dogs sports such as Rally O Agility herding and tracking. Most of all he loves being with his handler so it would be wonderful if he could go to a home where his owner was around most of the time.

Belgian Shepherds especially the Malinois are very bright and obedient dogs. They are determined and observant with strong protective and territorial instincts. They have to be socialized well to prevent them from becoming too shy or sensitive. The Belgian Malinois needs an experienced master who is firm but not heavy handed. If you are harsh or overbearing they will become uncooperative. Owners need to display a confident natural authority over the dog. Consistent rules must be set and made clear. This breed is instinctively protective so it should be trained and socialized very well from an early age. Puppies should be socialized right from birth. These dogs are good for working and competition obedience. They do however make excellent pets if they have owners who can challenge their minds with an air of leadership. They are ever watchful alert and loyal. The Belgian Malinois is good with children if socialized well with them. This breed needs to be part of the family and not locked up in a kennel. They need leadership daily exercise along with training and companionship for without it they may become destructive and hard to handle. The Belgian Malinois is high energy with a high mental capacity and is quick to comprehend. It needs a job to do. The Belgian Malinois may instinctively display herding behavior such as chasing and circling moving effortlessly for hours. This is a very demanding dog. These dogs are impressive do not base your decision on appearances. Only adopt this type of dog if you fully understand what it means to be alpha.
